National Park Service Ranger Stephanie Martin will talk about the Nez Perce War of 1877 on February 25th.  She worked at Bear Paw Battlefield from 2008 to 2014 and was able to visit many of the other sites in Montana associated with the flight of the Nez Perce.  The battlefield is part of the Nez Perce National Historical Park and is located 40 miles from the Canadian border near Chinook, Montana. This is the site where Chief Joseph handed his rifle to General Miles and ended the 1,100 mile pursuit. A discussion of the events of 1877 plus photos of many of the key sites will be presented.
