Synopsis: This presentation by Steve Stevenson will emphasize original buildings that comprised the old fort, including some that have been modified are still being used by the VA Medical Center today. Additional featured structures include those salvaged by the VA from the McCaw Army Hospital, those built by the VA, and those recently constructed for homeless veterans and their families. Participants will also find out why the facility is named for General Jonathan M. Wainwright, of WWII fame.

Steve Stevenson's interest in this matter began in 1983, with the celebration of Wainwright's 100th birthday, and has continued for more than thirty years. He retired from the VA Medical Center in 2001 after twenty-two years.
